Since 2007, the "Wolf's Barn" (Wolfsscheune) in the Erlichthof in Rietschen has been housing a permanent exhibition on different aspects of wolves that is based on scientific data and maintained by the contact office.
The people living in the area as well as tourists can inform themselves about the wolf's biology and lifestyle, wolf monitoring and keeping livestock in the wolf region by studying the information set out on numerous exhibition panels. Preserved specimens of wolf's scat, wolves or wild boar visualise the information. Furthermore, visitors have the possibility of listening to different wolf sounds and watching films on wolves.
The upper storey of the "Wolf's Barn" is also the lecture room for a wide range of events that are held here on the subject of wolves.
The "Wolf's Barn" is open between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. from Tuesday to Sunday. Please note that Monday is the closing day of the Erlichthof settlement. All the other houses are closed too. By contrast, the contact office is closed at the weekend and only open from Monday to Friday.
In January and February, the opening hours of the wolf's exhibition are limited.
